Corona Silent Typewriter 2S 76797 Smith-Corona WWII Era U.S. made. Corona Silent typewriter from Smith-Corona...a Standard "Silent" Manual Portable instrument. Branded simply "Corona" on its cover, it's estimated to be vintage 1938 based on its 2S serial number: 2S 76797 It's elegant and handsome with curving black matte textured surfaces, six glossy speed lines on the front cover, original golden graphics and round black keys with white lettering. It uses universal ribbons; installed spools are metal. Graphics include "Deemer & Company Office Equipment Wilkes Barre Scranton Hazleton." Included is its original case which case shows signs of age (peeling fabric corners and general scrapes - nothing terribly concerning). Its latches, handle, securing clips are solid. The typewriter itself appears to be in excellent condition for its age. Very few minor nicks and rubs to the finish. Functionally, everything seems to be working as intended although we're not typewriter experts. There's no doubt that it needs a tune-up and new ribbon and overall light sprucing up. There is some very minor wear to the "made in USA" graphic on the back. Vintage pre-owned
